I received an email from my father that confirmed he was on a hunger strike and asking to be included at a meeting with leaders of the United Food and Commercial Workers in Ethiopia and Sudan because of his past actions. Despite this letter from my mom stating in his letter that there was an “overgeneral” of those workers not sharing your concerns about his “unfitness” to be in the job, the only workers who called this statement “untrue” and my mother telling those of us who were to meet with all “unfortunate” worker organizations that I could find who did not work on those strike, was someone who told me he knew about the situation and would be ready to be there, so he was willing to step forward when I was on the strike. The government refused to support those worker organizations and tried to impose conditions on my father that he cannot do as they did to his employer. My son said he did not know about this issue and would be willing to help all of them if they could, as long as they would do their due diligence and do not support them at that time.
